I know you earlier see him huddled under it digging, but when the warden throws the rocks and they go straight thru, IMHO it would have had to have been tacked down at the bottom as well. Anyone else have any thoughts on this? ---

I don’t think we’re really meant to know / care about that but assuming he used some kind of adhesive, as opposed to pinning it, he could conceivably put the glue or whatever on the bottoms corners once inside the tunnel. Obviously he couldn’t smooth it down but he could probably do a half assed job. ---

As methodical as he was, and as important as that hole was, I assumed he put a hell of a lot of Scotch tape at the top of the poster, behind the poster so no one would notice, and maybe just a single doublesided roll at the bottom so he could use it like a trapdoor when he did his nightly digging. And I don’t remember for SURE if Andy was a lifer or not, but I do recall that the DA crucified him in the book for the double murder, complete with an explanation of how Andy would have had to have had stopped, reloaded, and then shot the corpses some more… ---

And the DA also does the whole “stopped, reloaded, shot again” routine. ---
