I’ll agree with **BlackKnight** , at risk of throwing this thread to the pit, and ask what the reaction would have been if some guy had performed a home mastectomy on his girlfriend with a boxknife? I don’t think we’d be asking if they had to use their highbeams to find the pieces. ---

I think the real reason that people are joking about this (horrible as the attack was) is that buttocks aren’t exactly something that spring to mind as being amputation candidates. Penis, testicles, breasts, fingers, nose, various limbs, sure. But buttocks? Plus the wording of the headline was just odd. ---

At least I know it is for me and my family. For some reason when it’s hard for your mind to wrap around something awful the humor just kicks in automatically. I don’t see that any of the jokes were malicious or disparaging in any way. Just my opinion of course. (Can I say that in this forum?) 😉 ---
