I have only two things to say. 1. I am generally indifferent to sign-offs, but love yams!! is awesome. 1. The plural of “ellipsis” is “ellipses” (dammit). ---

It occurs to me that people who sign off of every post with their own name are a bit like Donald Trump and his Vegas Hotel. They build a castle in the sand and the last thing they do is put their name on it in big letters just so everybody knows that it is _their_ castle in the sand. ---

I have a four-volume set called _Why I’m an Asshole_. Unfortunately, its index sucks, so it’s pretty useless to me for looking up specific acts (though great for leafing through when I’ve nothing to do. The colour supplement makes for great coffee table reading). Anyway, I often end GQ threads–particularly those asking technical questions–with: Thanks, Rhythm Not every post, just the OP. I know not everyone does it, but it just feels _wrong_ somehow not to end it like that. Do I get a pass on that or is it somewhere in the texts and I just haven’t found it yet? Or worse yet, do I have to fork over the dough to get the updated edition (I think they’re up to six volumes, but I’m pretty sure the last few chapters are still being peer reviewed)? ---

It’s not a serious issue to me, but I halfway cared when I wrote the OP and I still halfway care. It’s just an annoying behavior on his part, but I suspect the guy knows it’s an annoying behavior and does it for that very reason. It’s a mild for of trolling, and that irks me a bit. I did send a PM to **Shodan** asking him why he does that, but he hasn’t responded as of yet. However, even if he does respond I am not going to post it here because, well, I’m just not going to post a private message. ---
