You forgot to mention - was wife surprised? How did you “spring” it on her - at the airport or day before?
At any rate - glad you had a good time, got some good food and at least made a dent in your list of things to do while you were here - better than most people accomplish on their first visit!
Glad to hear that you two had a good time. 
I sprang it on her at breakfast, when she asked why I wasn’t at work.
I think she suspected something earlier, but I am about as subtle as a Sherman tank, so that is to be expected. But she has been kind of glowing ever since, which was my intent.
