You think a belief in god(s) is required to find fault with killing babies?
I disagree. Eliminating a very specific target is meant to terrorise the others.
Where did I even mention gods? And who is killing babies? That would be murder.
Since the main premise of abortion opponents is that life begins at conception, yes.
Do you have a non-religious reason to equate a clump of cells with a fetus in the third trimester?
And don’t forget there are restrictions on performing abortions late in a pregnancy.
From what I can tell, if it wasn’t a false flag operation it was a botched bank robbery and he fled to PP. Nothing to see here, move along.
Mike Huckabee manages to condemn the attack, while at the same time calling Planned Parenthood mass murderers.
“There’s no legitimizing, there’s no rationalizing. It was mass murder. It was absolutely unfathomable. And there’s no excuse for killing other people, whether it’s happening inside the Planned Parenthood headquarters, inside their clinics where many millions of babies die, or whether it’s people attacking Planned Parenthood.”
So we need to quash free speech in order to show we take right wing crazies seriously? Because a guy says that homosexuality is morally wrong, that Muslims contain a significant portion of extremists, that we need to control our borders, or not fund a group that promotes abortion, he is responsible for nut cases who commit violence against these people?
What if the comments in this thread cause a left wing nut job to try to harm Huckabee or Cruz? Are you responsible for that violence? Of course not. We live in a free country with free discourse on political issues; none of us are responsible for these things.
No, quite the contrary. We need to speak out more.
No. Some of those statements are wrong, all of them are misguided or misleading, but none of them contain the kind of zealous rhetoric that inspires domestic terror.
I haven’t seen any comments here could be so construed.
You put a semicolon between these statements, as if the one followed from the other. But they are contradictory. You can’t run around saying anything you like, no matter how extreme or incendiary, and not bear a share of responsibility when somebody somewhere takes you seriously.
If , as reported, the guys says “no more selling body parts”, then he’s not just targeting one particular doctor or facility. While I agree that it’s often difficult to know the true motivation of these folks, I’m not seeing how you automatically assume that he was just gunning for one particular person or one particular staff. Had he escaped capture, what makes you so sure he wouldn’t have targeted another facility in the future?
Terrorism does’ have to be “random”.
I will have to say it, no you are not the one telling it, who was your source?
When I looked at the map in Google, PP is more than 300 feet away from Chase bank outside the business campus. Those who claim it was “next door” are full of hot air (And I think the right wing site “Hot Air” claimed that).
In other news more states are finding that indeed the videos that made all the yahoos claims about PP selling baby parts did not show the truth:
I measured in Google Earth. 294 yards following the street, Door to door.
Map of the shopping center.
I’m reading comments that Planned Parenthood is to blame. If they weren’t murdering millions of babies, people wouldn’t attack them.
I only did an eye ball measurement, this if it was yards then it is worse, the buildings are not in the same campus. I do hope you are not claiming that the point I made does not stand. The ones that are claiming that the bank and PP where next to each other have to be criticized.
No, just giving an accurate distance. Which makes it more ridiculous to claim he came from the bank.
I corrected the post, not just in time, I agree with you.
No reason it can’t be both. Deliberately kill doctors and staff to frighten other doctors and staff from working for Planned Parenthood and/or abortion providers. He wasn’t going after Dr. So-and-So with a specific grudge.
As even NPR fell for being “fair” I would say to all the media out there to always point in their reports that the PP videos were found to be tampered, and that several state attorneys have reported that the accusations against PP made in the video were without merit.
There appear to be terrorist sympathizers everywhere. They’ll even make up complete rubbish to excuse the terrorists. They appear to enjoy telling complete, utter lies - I guess they think it’s for the “greater good”
Sorry, I should have (and in fact intended to) include that these seem to be the two main talking points making the rounds in Free Republic et al. Either it was a lone bank robber or someone acting on orders from Dear Leader so that DL can justify taking patriots’ guns.
