Spitballing - something similar to early Springfield rifles with improper/incorrect heat treatment?

Introduction of improved heat treatment at SN285507.

It might be just because its noisy and common.

See [Mosin Nagant phobias at ranges....](http://www.sksboards.com/smf/index.php?topic=17223.0)

They might let you test out less common rifles, but everyone would buy them mosin if they wanted to. well thats too common, its annoying… its like banning cars on grassed parks… one doesn’t do any harm , they are banned because if everyone drove the car in …

Perhaps its because people used the mosin to make the loudest noise there… to be annyoing not to practice aim …

I received a reply to my e-mail to Carroll County Recreation and Parks.

This was the e-mail that I sent:

> Just curious, but why is there a restriction for Mosin-Nagant rifles (must be loaded with one round at a time) at the Hap Baker facility, and only for Mosin-Nagant rifles? It seems a bit odd to restrict that particular rifle when not restricting similar rifles like a Mauser K98. I don’t own any of these rifles, just wondering why the Mosin-Nagant was singled out.

This was the reply I received back:

> Thanks for your question. The rule is in place because we have had three accidents with the Mosins. Allowing single shot only has worked well by decreasing the likelihood of an accident. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.

Would be nice to know the type of accident.
