We heard all the sirens heading that way earlier this morning. Sounds like no fatalities, which is the only good news about it. Trump will likely use this as an excuse to send in his thugs. ---

Local news says 2 kids dead, ages 8 and 10, and 17 injured. Shooter had three guns. ---

There was also a mass shooting here yesterday, wherein 6 people were wounded. It happened at 1:00 pm. Both of these shootings involved high-velocity weapons, which cause untold damage, unlike a lower velocity weapon like a 9mm. ---

I’m not sure if the shooter in this case did use a large caliber rifle. As a matter of fact this reminds me a lot of the I Don’t Like Mondays shooting which used a .22 rifle. Similar victims, similar shooter (in that they are probably an unconnected older person), 2 deaths but a lot of other injuries. Then again there are also reports that the Minnesota shooter “shot through the windows” amongst other things, so that could also explain the thankfully-low deaths so far. ---

In the USA it is very common to own rifles using the 5.56mm/.223cal round which are small caliber but have high muzzle velocities (e.g. AR15 type). ---

The shooter was identified as Robin Westman, formerly Robert.
