That is quoting _The Oakville Beaver,_ which I assume is a local Oakville paper? It states the following:

I’m wondering what that “confirmation” was, though. Were they talking about the announcement the board made, where they said they **couldn’t** confirm the identity of the person in the photos? Or did they talk to someone on the board directly? Nobody is quoted here.

Yes, sorry. If you have two papers with identical names, there’s a chance I might get them confused. It’s like the People’s Front of Judea, and the Judean People’s Front. 😛
I still see major questions. What I’m reading is that Kaylee Lemieux is/was known as Kerry Luc Lemieux. There is speculation that Kaylee is not a trans woman, but Kerry is dressing this way to protest the acceptance of trans rights.
From what I can tell, we don’t know the answers here, and neither does the media (local or otherwise) because the board will not reveal the information. See this article:

They are not giving out information, citing privacy rights.

While the above article does refer to Kaylee as a “transgender teacher”… Are we sure? The only reason I’m asking is because the whole discussion hinges on that.
I think that it’s safe to say that the photos are legitimate and identify a teacher at the school. So it seems that we either have a trans teacher dressing in a manner that I (personally) would consider inappropriate (and it doesn’t matter if we are talking about someone trans, cis, nonbinary, whatever). Or we have a teacher being pointedly disruptive. That’s my opinion at least.

Many of us up here in the frozen north can distinguish between the Toronto Sun and the Toronto Star. It’s not that hard.

This thread is all about the transphobes getting on their moral high horse and being able to openly display their bigotry in ways that wouldn’t be allowed otherwise. There are _always_ going to be extreme examples of things that happen. The bigots will capitalise on those extremes. Because they’ve got nothing else.
This thread, about a single teacher in a single school somewhere in Canada that apparently dresses in a way that the school board doesn’t seem overly concerned about, has now generated nearly twice as many responses as this thread about the Republican war on transgender people.

That thread is about something that is actually important. This thread? Not so much. It’s a distraction. A hand-wavy exercise in propaganda.
There really is nothing more to this story. You can keep digging deeper if you like. But you aren’t going to find anything more than has been presented in this thread.
There are literally people that don’t want transgender people to exist. I’m much more worried about them than a single teacher at a shop class in a school I’ve never heard of.

To me this thread is illustrative of a tactic used by bigots of all types, and a reasonable discussion could be had about what is the least poor way to respond to the tactic.
For any targeted minority the tactic is thus:
Find or create an image or anecdote of a member of the group doing something that almost all would agree is disturbing.
Attack the disturbing behavior, which might be a real event that occurred or one created for the purpose, doesn’t matter. Build up experiences of the general public associating the group identity with these disturbing images, no matter how rare and NOT reflective of the group identity they are, no matter how many of that group would actually be disturbed by the behavior if they witnessed it.
And jackpot - some well intended allies rise to create potential excuses for the disturbing behavior in manner that they would not if a similar behavior was engaged in by a member of the culturally dominant group, implying that failure to do so is being a member of the bigot group. Driving potential allies-to-be away.
Maybe this person was trolling, I don’t know. But the tactic works whether to Public Aid Black woman in a Caddie wearing gaudy fancy jewelry is a real individual, the single person who fit that image, or a fictional anecdote.

I find it interesting that some people are really offended that any discussion is taking place on the subject. Discussion forums can be very helpful, and having a contrary opinion does not automatically make one a bigot. I get the sense this teacher was deliberately trying to push the envelope, but I could be wrong. I hope she is a decent teacher at least.

At this point, I don’t trust you.
You’ve given part of the information you have, but you’ve withheld something you say is probably not relevant because it’s speculation. Given your previous posts on trans issues, one possibility is that:
1. The “teacher’s a rightwing troll” idea is correct.
2. The speculation you heard from someone who knows the teacher is that they’re trolling.
3. You’re petulantly assuming that anyone’s gender identity is what they claim it is, even when they’re trolling, so you’re declining to tell us about that speculation.
You’ve been weirdly cagey here. I don’t believe you’re a reliable source of information on this case.

There has been a very intense “civil” dicussion about transgender rights over the last few years. And the end result of that “civil discussion” is that there are a lot of people, many with large platforms, many with political power, who are doing everything they can to make the lives of trangender people miserable. They are doxxing them. They are trying to stop gender affirming care. They are trying to stop people supporting trans kids. They are harrasing doctors and nurses and threatening to blow up hospitals. They are passing laws to make it harder to transition. To merely exist.
In a lot of places in the world, the bad guys are winning. And they are winning because they have successfully used discussions like “should transgender people be allowed to participate in sports” as a wedge issue to promote their agenda.
The time for nuanced debate is long over. If you have a contrary opinion that isn’t a bigoted talking point then please, by all means, share it with the rest of us. Many people have already argued that they didn’t think the outfit, as presented, is suitable atire for shop class. They weren’t called bigots.
But if you do happen to get called a bigot in this thread, its probably because you are being a bigot.
