# Shop class no no’s Shorts, long hair and giant prosthetic boobs?

It’s simply inappropriate for this person to be wearing gargantuan fake breasts with protruding nipples the size of tea saucers in a classroom full of middle-school aged children. I’m amazed this even needs saying, frankly.

Yes, it’s this exactly, and “influencers” like LibsOfTikTok specifically mix stories like this in with completely innocuous (and totally true) stories like “Teacher tells her 5th grade class she has a wife” in order to whip up outrage against any kind of LGBTQ representation in public. It’s an extremely common tactic and responding to this tabloid bait is just playing into it.

I’ve not “feigned” anything. I’ve said, quite categorically, that what this teacher is doing is inappropriate. From this, you’ve somehow deduced that I’d be happy editing the trans equivalent of Breitbart’s ‘Black Crime’ section. That’s one hell of a leap, and it’s not unreasonable to ask why you made it. Still, if you’d rather be coy and dance around the question I suppose there isn’t much I can do about it.
I am interested in one thing, though. Yes or no: Do you think that this teacher’s attire is appropriate for a middle-school?

I would imagine that there’s likely nothing in the school’s safety and professional requirements that would prohibit her from wearing a 14 inch strap-on dildo, should she choose to do so, presumably because no-one on the school board would’ve thought it necessary to explicitly prohibit such a thing. Should I conclude that you’d have no problem with her doing so?

I don’t think I was, but it could well be that my definition of ‘transphobia’ is simply different from yours. I did give the material presented in that thread a lot of thought. Some of it I found convincing, some of it less so. I ultimately concluded that the opinions I formed as a result weren’t coherent enough to be a useful addition to the thread, so I opted to stay out of it. After all, better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt, right? But this thread is different. To me, this isn’t about transphobia at all. This is a simple question of appropriateness. I think this teacher’s attire is _insanely_ inappropriate. That’s the only point I wanted to make.

Hey, you’re the one who suggested that the school’s written guidelines for safety and professionalism were the only valid litmus test by which to judge whether this teacher’s attire was inappropriate. Don’t blame me if your stupid opinion leads to stupid places. Maybe try being less stupid?
