A friend has a German Short Hair Pointer named Ruger.
According to Mr. Garand, it is pronounced “GAHrun”, not “gar RAND”.
OMG, I looked for that and didn’t find it, thought I misremembered. I’ve done that with a couple other things too, one when I was trying to identify a scifi short story. Thanks for letting me know, duh.

Ruger is a boy’s name where I live. Along with Riker (from Star Trek), and Camo, (short for Cameron). You might think that I am kidding but I am not.
So far no one has named their twins Smith & Wesson but it is probably just a matter of time.
I knew twins named Ronald and Donald. Their surname also fit in, almost rhyming. At least it wasn’t McDonald.
