I was reading this thread [http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=71669](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?threadid=71669) and got severely torqued at all of the folks who don’t know the difference between “loose” (as in not tight) and “lose” (as in what has happened to something that is lost.) Fer shits sakes, folks, it ain’t hard. Get it together and do it right. I am tired of reading about cars and loose water. What’s that? Promiscuous water, fucks anything and everything? Water with diarhea, just a shitty situation? 'Tain’t difficult, folks. Get your shit together and quit fucking up. ---

Note the letters in the word “whine”. There are 5 of them. At no point does the letter “g” appear in “whine”. So why do so many people spell it whinging? I hate that misspelling! Fenris ---

Is a phrase that I wish would people would stop using, when they really mean “What a coincidence…” I was telling someone the other day about my two Old English Sheepdogs. “Big, fluffy clowns, they are!” I said. The response?.. “How ironic! My mom has an Old English sheepdog that she raised from a pup!” \ I couldn’t resist… “No,” I responded, “that’s a coincidence, not ironic. It WOULD have been ironic if your Mom had maintained all along that her sheepdog was the gentlest creature in the entire world, never once thinking to cause harm to anyone or anything. Only to have that same dog rip out her jugular.” The response?.. \ I just left it at that. ---
