# Shots fired at my old high school

No good details have been publicly issued. Seems to be some sort of personal problem rather than a school attack. The school was put under lockdown but classes continued. Even so, seeing your old high school covered in police tape is not an everyday sight.

Guns are nothing new in themselves. I know that some were confiscated from students while I attended, and that’s over 50 years ago. But I can’t remember another active shooting on a student on school grounds.

People are idiots.

But unfortunately, seeing _a_ high school covered in police tape is not that unusual.

My old high school was the site of a [school shooting](https://www.clickorlando.com/news/local/2021/04/22/man-who-shot-student-at-forest-high-school-sentenced-to-30-years-in-prison/), but the campus has moved from the location where it was when I attended.

They told the parents at some point, because there are comments elsewhere. But I can’t find a good article on it; they all dismiss it with the same couple of paragraphs.
