It’s in the great tradition of the Straight Dope to call bullshit when there’s no cite for a claim. I did nothing wrong to anyone by calling out secondhand hearsay with nothing to back it up. I’m not even busting on Der Trihs for believing his brother; he and I just have different standards of evidence, that’s all. I say extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. It’s nothing personal against him. I’m not calling him a liar. How you could twist that out of anything I said is unbelievable. I never questioned his veracity that his brother said that to him. It’s important to tell the difference between healthy skepticism and accusation of lying. You just wrongly accused me of accusing a Doper of lying. You failed to tell the difference. Your post is wide of the mark and, as far as I’m concerned, pretty much worthless. ---
