They should, that does seem to work. Recall how calling the Republicans “weird” got traction for a while?
But that got shut down as “impolite” or something; sucking up to the Republicans is more important than winning to the Democratic leadership.
The problem with “weird” as applied to Republicans is that if you use it too much, it becomes normal.
Or as Hunter S. Thompson once put it, “When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.”
