The goalposts would NOT be moved if obama made public his birth certificate, hospital records, school and college records, passports and visas, selective service records, social security records, marriage/divorce records, health records, etc. Even if “a few” of his history records really did come up missing after instructing the schools and various government agencies to release everything, then everyone would accept it and move on to other issues.

Why? Every single reliable data point on this issue has already pointed to Obama being born in Hawaii.

Why would the birther side suddenly decide to believe he was born in the US upon getting more evidence? It’s not like their relying on evidence to begin with.

Actually, I wonder about that. I’ve asked a question in GQ, whether the inability to accept evidence is an actual illness. (Not just birthers, but other conspiracy theorists such as Moon Hoaxers.) So far, it seems it is a ‘disorder’ rather than an illness.

Since I’m looking for factual medical/clinical answers there, please don’t, if anyone posts, bring politics into it.

It was made public and then they started crying about it. They said it was a forgery because of some details (because it was a scan of a document, you couldn’t tell the seal was raised, and the campaign blacked out an index number), and then said they wanted a different kind of certificate. Now, SusanAnn wants “birth certificate, hospital records, school and college records, passports and visas, selective service records, social security records, marriage/divorce records, health records, etc.” How do his grades, SSN, and marriage records (he hasn’t been divorced) and his health records demonstrate where he was born? Why couldn’t he lie if there was conspiracy? Do they think the health records will show he has some kind of parasite you can only get if you’re born in Kenya or some CSI nonsense? It doesn’t even make sense.

BTW, HER delivery records are not HIS medical records. Who has access to their mothers’ medical records? Why should a son have the right to open them to the public?

I’m not sure you can call them her records either. They are records of her delivery and his birth, but the records belong to the state of Hawaii from what I can tell. So I think the issue is that the state does not have the right to make these records public.
