No, that’s 250 inches. This girl lives a few doors up the street. But my last GF lived down the hall. So close that on Thanksgiving, I could monitor the temperature of the turkey in her oven from my place. ---

[/QUOTE] Thanks. 🙂 My profile was Doper Approved™ when I wrote it. Meaning that it appeals to Dopers. Judging from the responses I’m getting, I guess it appeals **only** to Dopers. Back then, someone else here talked about how he was going to close his account there, as he was getting no responses. My advice to him: “Keep at it. You’ll find someone!” The advice I should have given him: “Talk me out of wasting time with this stoopid, stoopid, site.” ---

A Doper friend of mine met someone through it a few weeks ago–after he had scorned the idea of even putting up a profile. I’m on there, but I live in the boonies, so I’m not meeting anyone. Or else my profile (which I admit starts off purposely off-putting) sucks. ---

Personally the age bit doesnt have to be a problem ,if your outgoing and can make her laugh. But friendship with women is normally with colleagues and neighbours etc. They know you already and friendship develops but with a male stranger ?I reckon it would creep her out. Im shallow I know but in my experience women you dont know understand flirtation and lust even if they dont particulary welcome it from you individually but the other smacks of stalking. I dont really understand what you mean by her being out of your league but your lack of confidence wont help you make an impression on her ,the only women who love men who they feel sorry for are Mums. But youve got nothing to lose even if her first impressions arent overwhelming she might agree to a date for an unrelated reason ,piss off an ex or some such and then find that when youre out on your date that she really likes you a lot . Ditch the defferent shyness though.Good luck I hope it goes well for you. ---
