Lately I’ve noticed a couple of nicks **very** similar to mine on the boards. One of them is only one letter away from my nickname and one is kind of a shortened version of what I call myself sometimes. As I write this, I have a wry grin on my face and a twinkle in my eye. I’m not really pissed off, but I’m not really flattered either, and here’s my thinking on it: Since coming on board in December of 2001, I have posted enough to where y’all pretty much know my persona. That is, you know the kinds of things I might say or not say in a particular post, but not **everybody** does. For that reason it worries me a little that something might be said by one of the new Q’s that might be misconstrued as coming from me, and I might have to answer for it even though the post count, location, name and sign-on date might be different. Having said that, though, some of y’all know me well enough to know that I can take a “Hey, Quasi! Take a chill-pill! It ain’t nothin’ but a thang!”, so go ahead and let me know your thoughts. You know I respect them. And to the new **Q’s** : Welcome to SDMB. 😃 Quasi ---

Well, that deflects the rumor I was going to start about you cloning yourself… 😃 I noticed one of the names and it took a few seconds to figure out it wasn’t you. NOT what I need to deal with at my advanced age - being so easily confused anyway. So I vote neither pissed nor flattered - join me on the confused bench. ---

Those other quasi-Quasi’s make me question the integrity of my personal reality construct, and you know how that’s a bitch to get back in order. I shudder to think how it must be, having to deal with it in first person. ---

How do you know that such people didn’t already have a ‘Quasi’ in their “internet name” before you? Like you’re the only one or something. Maybe they registered before having ever seen your nick. ---

I don’t lay claim to the name exclusively, **ParentalAdvisory**. I’ve used the name since I came online in 1994, but I sure can’t claim it as my own and am not trying to do so. Sorry I set you off. 😃 My concern is what I posted originally: I don’t want anythinng attributed to me that I didn’t post. Your first and last sentences were the most helpful.
