If a fever is beneficial then more of a fever would be better? So if you have a fever you should start exercising & stuff & soon youll have quite a fever, eh? Hmmmmm.
And how high was that fever? Or was that a hypothetical question?

My mother (the nurse practioner)'s comment:
Zor, Punditlisa were right, Kinoons is far too liberal in idea. Something can get out of hand too quickly if you wait for fevers that high, especially in a child. Karlgauses is too great!!! That’s one you can believe for sure.
More comments from from her (A slight hijack, comments on strep throat, since the people here seem like they might be interested in this type of thing):
The other thing you were dealing with when it’s strep, is that the toxins can cause anxiety reactions in some people. I bet you had an early retropharyngeal (behind the pharynx in the throat)abscess. That can be fatal if it swells the throat so much it cuts off the trachea. In kids it’s a significant enough risk to give them both antibiotic and steroid injections (to decrease the swelling reaction) ASAP and even to hospitalize if the parents aren’t too bright and might not watch the child closely enough or if they have no readily available transportation in case of
further trouble. It’s stuff. You were also in the early stages of what used to be called poisoning, formally known as septicemia. If your grandfather had been that sick, he’d be dead. Seek help sooner next time. Once you’ve had a bout that bad, you may be a carrier, so wash hands, wash hands, wash hands, and check out anything at the very first sign - you may have occasional recurrent infections from now on. When you go in for evaluation, be sure to mention that you’ve had a really severe bout previously to kick-start them into treating sooner, not later. Strep can cause problems on heart valves (and in kidneys I think) if you let it get away from you and as you get farther and farther from 16 you’ll tolerate illness less and less.
