Should I buy a toaster oven?

Nah, it’s not. However, today I went out and bought a larger toaster oven with more room in the womb, so I’m hoping it will perform better.

Gaaaah! C’mon, people, get it together.

I have on my wishlist thisnifty “toaster” oven. It’s a miniature Combi oven that injects steam (if you want) to make awesome bread rolls and such. Just look at it! I’m holding back, but it will be mine.

My current toaster oven is ok, but tiny. You can do a bagel in it, but that’s about it.

Just to add to the conversation…I’m probably one of the few remaining people on this planet who will toast a bunch of bread in the regular oven if everybody (we are 6) wants toast, just so it’s all done at once.

Oh heck yes. We use ours everyday. Buy one of the bigger size capable of holding a pizza. We have an Oster that also does convection cooking.

It is so much easier than using our big oven. Plus we use it as our toaster.

Well, I’m pleased to say that getting a toaster oven with a larger heating chamber has resulted in properly baked food without burning. I’m now likely to use it frequently.

Crossed wires in the brain I guess.

That has got to be a line in Airplane!

“Roger Roger!”
“Toaster Over!”

A what now?

Heh. I think that means those pop-n-fresh tubes. Whomp. Heh.

Hee - got it!

We have the Breville that bakes, roasts, toasts, and broils. It came with a roasting pan, broiler pan, and pizza pan, and it’s perfect for us. I really hated turning on the oven to cook for two people, and this little oven has done everything. Buy one!

I haven’t had a toaster oven for a while, but the last one I had I remember it had absolutely no insulation between the top burner and the metal top of the unit. So the outside top got almost as hot as the inside. Maybe the manufacturers have wised up, but I can’t see getting one like this again – too much of a fire and burn hazard.

Where else could you get information like that? That kind of info is worth its weight in gold. OK. So it has no weight. But, it’s still worth it’s weight in gold. Know what I mean?

That’s why I stopped storing my lawnmower gas can atop my toaster oven.
