I knew your name was a reference to the hockey team. I think I learned the fact from one of those “explain your username” threads, and since I remember you’re Canadian, I know your use of such spellings as “colour” is not an affectation, even though my USA-based computer flags that word as incorrect. Since the “new leaf” gag has already appeared in this thread, I’ll add a suggestion that you consider something like **Re: Leaf** or **Still a BeLeafEr** if you decide a change is needed. But I generally prefer that usernames be evergreen as opposed to deciduous, so I voted for you to remain **Leaffan**. ---

dang it. i thought your name was like some cool french-canadian sounding name. i pronounced it in my head “leah-fawn” with a weak “n,” ala a fake french accent. fan of leaf. ☹ _feels dumb_ eta: **Kimmy\_Gibbler** is my favorite username. She obviously grew up to be _awesome_. ---

I always understood the reference. That being said…my fave three teams are Blues, Redwings and Guins…in that order. Makes for some unpleasant conversations at times. I say…GO **Leaffan** GO…Fuck Betmann, just drop the fucking puck! Somehow I associated your name with a character from LOTR…in my mind, you have pointed ears, wear a long white gown, have magical powers and perhaps drink mead from a golden chalice for dinner. And don’t worry about having a user name that no longer suits you. I have a user name from the German currency that no longer exists! But somehow, **DEuro** doesn’t have the same ring to it, so will leave it alone. ---

Hi Leaffan. Maybe you should have chosen “Lafffan”. Rebranding: Pretty psychological. Not going there except to say You were a Leaf fan long before you were a husband. Myself: I’ve been a Skates since 1976. The name was chosen on a whim with about 4 seconds of thought and now (using the LinkedIn relationship model) I have literally thousands of peoplke who know me as such. So I’m not changing. I always saw the user name in relation to the Hockey team, as I used to be into Hockey a while back. I say keep it. It’s just a SN, and your actual post content more represents you, anyway. ---

If you’re unhappy with your name, change it . . . but temporarily include your original name as a signature, so your name will be: **Newname** (formerly Leaffan) After a while, you can omit the signature. I’m thinking of doing the same thing myself. ---
