Mike, bro, get off your ass and go for it. Lets face it, the kid is 4 years old and isn’t going to have much of a grasp on the dynamic of dating. I’m sure the teacher isn’t going to be sharing her love life with the kids, and I don’t imagine you would either. I would probably reccomend you don’t start having her over for dinner with you and the kids until after the kid moves on to Kindergarten, but thats the only boundry I’d see as necessary. She sounds great, and you seem to get along well, definately don’t wait!!! If shes cute and charming she won’t be available long, so continually convincing yourself the time isn’t right, or trying to wait until after the kid moves on will just mean you missed the opportunity. Go for it, you really have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Rejection is no big deal, seriously. There are a million reason a person might not want to date you and only a few of them are anything to feel bad about. If she says no, just smile and shrug it off. The two of you won’t feel too wierd around each other unless you make a big deal of it. If you just roll with the punches it’ll all be fine, and she’ll take it as a compliment. The point I’m making is that you have _nothing_ to lose by asking her out. I agree that going out clubbing isn’t the best thing to open with, unless she suggests it, but I don’t think its always a great idea to keep things polite and bland. She works with kids all day, I highly reccomend you go out of you way to make this a very “adult” evening. She’ll certainly appreciate it. I think the Comedy Club is a excellent idea, but I don’t think I’d make a point of going to the early all ages show. A little sex, profanity and alcohol are ingredients to a excellent date IMHO. Ask her out, damn it! ---

She said YES!! WooHoo!!! Whew, that was easier than I thought. I am correct, there IS a vibe there. When I got to the classroom, she was positively beaming to see me:) I suspect Mike the teacher told her about my inquiry. She gave me her number and we haven’t decided what we’re going to do yet but it’ll be after she finishes babysitting Sat. morning. SHE SAID YES!!! Now the bad news: I had a large check cash that I mistakenly thought cashed over two months ago:o so I’m officially broke. good thing tomorrow is payday! (note to self: maybe checking your account balance once in a while could perhaps be a good idea. D’oh!) ---
