> Well, my iPhone came today. I got it activated and synched with iTunes okay. After putting some music on it, I’ve started playing around with it. I’m typing this on it. It’s very interesting and does take a little bit of getting used to. I find myself hitting the spacebar accidentally quite a few times. But the auto-correct feature works quite well, which is fortunate, since I have pretty fat thumbs. I even downloaded one of the rotary dialer apps, which is quite fun. I even learned how to make free ringtones. I’m going to load some more music on this, then tomorrow I’m going to download the OS3 beta and play around with it some more.

Just remember that you need to have your iphone registered on a developer account or trying to add 3.0 will brick the phone when it tries to verify. If you want to try it out, shoot me a PM and I can add you to my developer account if you want…

I just went smartphone shopping today. The iPhone wasn’t even on my list because I find it incredible that Apple would design it so you can’t even change the battery yourself without voiding your warranty. That just annoys the hell out of me.

I bought a [Samsung Omnia](http://omnia.samsungmobile.com/) and have been playing with it for about 8 hours now. I love it already. You’re already happy with a Samsung product, so you should at least check it out.

It has a 5 mega pixel camera with a flash, and the flash (very bright LED) can be turned on to be a flashlight! Just a couple of the things that I thought were really cool. I don’t even think I’ve started to scratch the surface of what this phone is capable of.

Edit: also does video, and you can copy & paste.

That’s fine, but if it’s only going to be a month or two before the full release, I’ll wait until Apple officially announces it. I can wait, I don’t want to do anything too geeky to it and break it.
