This time it’s different because this is a not-for-profit in question… and not-for-profit with which I’m affiliated, at that. The fact is, if she is successful in her business and she’s not committing actual fraud but rather overcharging people…well, it’s on them if they fail to negotiate well or demand what she said she would deliver. I can’t imagine she could maintain a successful business for this many years if someone, somewhere wasn’t happy with what she provided or if she didn’t bring more value than the OP is giving her credit for. ---

He’s just telling you what he would think if he were in the school’s position, and then giving you the exact same advice everyone else has given. Badmouthing your boss, even if you have a good reason, rarely works out. Your best bet is to figure out a way where you are no longer working for them. Then you can say what you want without fear of repercussion. ---
