Should I take this job? (a tad long)

Didn’t think to… WHAT?!?

OK, LIP, you should not take this position, mainly due to the length. This will put you in shit with your agency, they may not call you again for a long time, if at all, so you should sign up with a couple of others. When you do, tell them that you only want short assignments, a few days at most.

The reason is that your posts in this thread and the one-day-waiter thread suggest that you need a lot of practice job hunting and being a new employee, because frankly, by every objective measure, you suck at these things.

I am not trying to be insulting, because I know you are just finishing up college next year, and we all have to start somewhere. I’m just trying to drive the point home very forcefully, because you are part of a population surge, and will have lots of competition upon graduation. Compared to most people who will be graduating and competing with you for entry level jobs next spring, your self-advancement and self-preservation instincts, at least as exemplified in your posts in these threads you’ve started, are toilet-worthy.

It would be best for you to try and take lots of shorter jobs to get experience asking about salary and learning how to get by in a new workplace, before you embark on whatever will be your real career next spring.

I apologize if I sound overly harsh, but you really need to get a grip on skills in negotiating and working with new people, and for new bosses, because no one here wants to see you starve on the street.
