Last year there was something called a “Snookie” that was infesting the tabloids, but that seems to have passed. The Kardashians will be pub-trivia fodder soon enough. ---

Kim herself is also a shrewd business person and like Paris Hilton she’s managed to leverage what she started with (a sex tape) into a substantial fortune. I don’t know whether her sisters have staying power. And her stepfather is Bruce Jenner, an Olympic champion and successful motivational speaker. Her father was one of the country’s most famous lawyers. Whether or not the Kardashians last as celebrities, you can’t really compare them to Snookie. ---

I think she may have ‘jumped the shark’ with this one. All famous-for-being-famous people have a shelf life & a point of action where they stop being interesting/entertaining enough for extreme media. I think kim (and pray the entire Kardashian clan) is there now. Hoping they’re heading down the bell curve slope. ---

I’ve never posted to a thread without reading every post first… until now. I just wanted to point out that I have NO idea what any Kardashians did to become famous (I’m assuming it’s a Paris Hilton “Famous for being famous” thing). And I’m quite content, not knowing (and not even knowing what their first names are), so I’m going to close this thread before I find out… AFTER I finish patting myself on the back. ---
