I liked when we had a “Mundane Pointless Stuff I Must Share” thread, where one could post streams of consciousness, without opening up a whole new thread. For instance, “Oprah’s hair looked awful today.” or “I can’t believe it’s March 8th and 80 degrees in Ohio today.” Things that don’t require a response, and certainly don’t warrant a thread all to themselves… ---

Create a separate forum for personal messages and in-jokes. Call it “Personal Stuff”. For chatter between good buddies the rest of us know nothing about and care less. It gets tiresome scrolling through an interesting thread cluttered up with tee-hee-heeing and come-ons. ---

Only on the SDMB and only in MPSIMS (pronounced Mip Sims) could we turn a question like this into a debate and potentially even a flame war. (I know no flames yet, but it is just heating up). This thread should almost be moved to GD, then however, it would die as the GDers would likely not care. (I know most of us cross-over). When do I pronounce MPSIMS? Mostly in my head. That is for me personally, when I type anything, I am also “saying” it in my head. So when I type MPSIMS or when I am thinking about it I pronounce it in my head as being quicker than spelling out MPSIMS in my head.
