**Chairman Tom Cole and the Republican Leadership of the United States House of Representatives Cordially Invite 90Wt and Guest to attend the 2007 President’s Dinner!!** So, I’m here piddling around with some things in my home office when the phone rings. Checking the caller ID, I see it says Out of Area, which I never answer (usually automated telemarketing). Much to my surprise the fax begins printing. I’m thinking who in tarnation is that !? Turns out, it is a 4 page fax inviting me to the National Republincan Congressional Committee’s President’s Dinner. Also the NRCC’s Annual Board Meeting. On the cover, they mention that “due to your standing with the party” they’ve reserved seating for me and arranged for a VIP photo. Funny thing is, I’m not a member of ANY political party. There are a lot of enticements listed in the program - Photo op with Karl Rove ! Photo-op with Members of Congress! Welcome Breakfast! This MUST be my chance of a lifetime !!!1111 😛 ---

IIWY, I would check to see how much that dinner might set you back. Then again, why not go, if it’s not too expensive? I like watching critters in their natural habitat, and think of the threads you could start! ---

I’ve read the fine print and nowhere does it say ’X per plate'. The only thing that even mentions is the ‘personal instructions and itinerary’ which direct me to make my own reservations at the Ritz-Carlton ( :eek: ). Wait… ah ha … I think I’ve found it. “New members of the House Republican Trust and Congressional Leadership Council recieve two complimentary tickets to”. That probably means that I’d have to join that Council … for a _small fee_. Heh. ---
