Actually, this is true of Harry as well. In the epilogue, he (and Hermione) go on to hold high ranking positions in the Ministry of Magic, the same government that tried to prosecute them for trying to stop Voldemort.
That does seem to be how Hermione is portrayed in the novels - a Southerner’s caricature of a misguided Northern abolitionist.
Pretty much this. I’m not much of a fanboy, and I have often had to look back on works I’ve enjoyed in the past and seen how they’ve NOT aged well, or how an actor/author has become a raging reactionary, and had to sigh.
But there are plenty of people who are deeply invested in creative works and will give those creators attention and influence that seems insane to people like me. And while I wouldn’t say they’re the majority, they are a substantial fraction of the population.
Thus, and back to the point of the thread, I try not to give them any additional attention or financial support if they speak or act in ways contrary to my own outlook. I may not be able to change someone else’s mind about a certain creator, but I can join the crowd in keeping any additional funds (small in personal amount, but possibly large in aggregate) to support their stance.
