Now that Gary Glitter has been convicted once for child porn on his computer (because he sent it in for service- genius) and once for actual physical abuse, shouldn’t sports arenas around the country who blare “Rock n Roll Part 2” aka “Duh Duh Duh Duh Hey” maybe rethink their decision to pay royalties to this vile person? Granted, I’m sure most American arena music programmers have no idea who Gary Glitter is, let alone his history, but to me it seems somehow wrong, assuming he still owns the rights to the song, that he is continuing to make royalties which will continue to help him feed his perversions once released. I mean, there was a HUGE backlash when Guns N Roses put the Manson song on an album, this to me is inifnitely worse. If he longer owns the rights to this song, please ignore this post. ---

The Seattle Thunderbirds minor league hockey team announced shortly after the announcement Glitter was convicted they would no long play the song during games. ---

The Norfolk Admirals stopped using it a couple of years ago when all this started coming to light. ---

So because someone is a vile person, we shouldn’t listen to a song that we liked prior to discovering how vile they were? ---

Well, I suppose the thing is that people can listen to it all day at home, which wouldn’t involve paying him royalties (IF, indeed, he does still own rights to the thing). ---

The OP makes a great point. I’m going to write to my city’s NFL team and ask they consider not using this song any more and to the NFL to ask them to notify all teams they should reconsider using Glitter’s music. I wonder if they even realize Gary Glitter’s background. It’s time for a new celebration song anyway. ---
