British working girls unionised for a while some years ago, but the Inland Revenue said that they would in the future be taking an interest in their earnings, and start subjecting them to taxation.

Shortly after that the union folded.

The union hasn’t folded, it’s still very active. It became a branch of the GMB.

This would never work in the Muslim countries that so many troops are currently stationed in. They don’t have the same kind of tolerant attitude about sexuality that they have in other parts of the world. Any Muslim woman in Iraq or Afghanistan suspected of sleeping with an American serviceman would probably be killed for the “honor” of her family.

If they had families; they would’nt bother becoming prostitutes. Iraq has had a lot of problems with oftentimes educated and professional women becoming prostitutes thanks to the little operation in democracy.
