Minimum wage is evil. OK, maybe not evil. Counterproductive and harmful to the economy.

Unfortunately, the Minimum Wage is one of those bad-but-politically-sensitive laws like the Luxury Tax. Eliminating either would help the economy, but the reaction against the IDEA of eliminating them, by the great unwashed mass of voters, is staggering.
If someone proposes eliminating the Minimum Wage, Joe Minimum Wage earner balks, thinking this would mean his wages would go down, and votes against the ballot proposition or the legislator.
If someone proposes eliminating the Luxury Tax, Joe Minimum Wage earner balks, thinking this would mean those dirty no-good rich guys are getting free yachts and limos, and votes against the ballot proposition or the legislator.
The truth, as always, is more complicated than that.
