I don’t even see a financial upside for this for Seattle. Why on earth would they do this? While we’re in Bizarro Trade Land, I’d like the Blue Jays to trade Brian Tallet to the Yankees for Robinson Cano and, since they then won’t need Aaron Hill, flip Hill to the Reds for Joey Votto and Aroldis Chapman. And I want a pony. ---

People constantly call into the Boston sports radio stations and suggest these ridiculous trades and the hosts just rip them to shreds every time. It’s one of my favorite parts of the shows. 🙂 ---

But some deals you just can’t turn down. The Padres have expressed a reluctant willingness to send Wolrd Series MVP, perennial gamer and official mascot David Eckstein to the Rockies, and in return are going to settle for Troy Tulowitzki, Ubaldo Jimenez, and some cash. ---

And I want a pony. Brian Tallet for Cano? Are you kidding? You’ve got to at least throw in proven veteran backup catcher Jose Molina if you want to get Cano.
