ok, confession time, here`s where i`m coming from… as far as i`m concerned,the planet was here before we were,and it`s gonna be here when we`re gone,so why get hung up on nation and country etc,.... ..all i want is an easy ride. it just so happens that i was born in the part they call scotland,and looking around,it seems to me that the pragmatic thing to do to get by with as little fuss as possible,is to make the most of whatever we can. if scotland was to become a part of the us,i think tourism would really take off--no passports/money exchange problems,lots of "roots tracing" ,golf galore, music,history,scenery etc. our defence would be taken care of when we get back all those airbases,navy dockyards and all that kind of stuff. i would like to be able to go work in the states without visa`s etc,and i have yet to meet an american that i didn`t like.we could maybe manage without the guns,although one would be handy in certain parts of glasgow.... as for europe-i like european people just fine,it`s the idea of their governments running my life that i dont fancy,i think most brits watch american movies,listen to american music,and generally identify with the american outlook, the language helps too. if our government is going to surrender our “independence”,(and it is) i`d just as soon take my chances with america,after all, plenty scotts got shipped out there a while back,so we`re practically family. the thing is,would you americans want us? ---

So how do we work the Welsh in? I have trouble understanding the accent. Maybe an exchange program with some of our Georga Peaches? ---

No. It would be too confusing. Everytime someone in GB referred to football we would think of the Cowboys, Bears, Patriots. (Go Pats). When we referred to football the other side of the pond would think of Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool. The sports page would be too confusing. I am sure the Brits are not ready to start using the word Soccer. ---
