I’m going to suggest something that some would find unethical. I’m not a lawyer, it’s your life, it’s up to you, etc…

Bring a generator capable of backfeeding 220v into the panel to get the power on for the duration of the inspection. Bring a curb wrench and turn on the water for the duration of the inspection.

Cheap money and effort to get a real inspection and who’s gonna know? What’s the worst that could happen?

I don’t think this is “suggesting illegal activiy” per se, but if a mod disagrees they may nuke my post with no argument from me.

We called them this afternoon and turned down their offer. We also told them not to contact us about this house again since this was the third time we walked away from the deal and they keep coming back to us to give us a new offer. We will wait another year or two and save up the money to buy a house that doesn’t need that kind of repair in a better neighborhood instead.

I would have super low balled them. Saying don’t call me back unless you will take ( insert here half the price of the current offer)

But that would be just to get a bit of satisfaction back from the hassle.

I would have been very tempted to have done the same - say, something like $100,000 even. You give me that price, and we’ll buy the house as is tomorrow. You can’t do that price, quit wasting my time.
