It’s currently called [PUNY HUMANS! I AM AN UNKILLABLE THREAD! BWA HA HA! Rule on troll-calling changed!](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=374782), but my title can’t be far off. It was a sticky. It didn’t sink very fast when unstickied. Gosh, that was hilarious. Now it’s a joke thread sustained by lame moderator name changes. Hold my fucking sides.
It’s a joke thread now and has been for a long time. It’s a post party. It’s a barely lappable morsel of its own meager puke. You want to encourage that?

This is not a redundant thread. It is not merely calling for a thread closure. It is calling the moderators who have repeatedly bumped the now useless thread by namechange fuckwits.

Yeah, but if he posted to it then he’ll be bumping the thread back to the top. There would also probably be twenty replies snarking on the fact that he bumped a thread he wanted to die.

Exactly. He was going to catch shit from someone, whichever course of action he took.
I only noticed the name change yesterday, and it did puzzle me a bit, but i wasn’t interested enough to open the thread and find out the cause. If they’re doing what **Hawthorne** says, that is indeed a bit lame. Either make it a sticky, if it’s that important, or let it die.

No, it’s a joke thread sustained by lame jokes posted by people who like lame jokes and think it’s pretty funny to keep the thread at the top of the page after **Giraffe** said that he’d decided to let it sink. Regardless of name changes, the thread wouldn’t keep popping back up if people didn’t keep posting in it.
