I’m surprised someone hasn’t murdered, or at least assaulted him, whether in jail or on the golf course. Like I said in an earlier thread, when he does kick off, the media will think anyone actually cares. ---

I mean, a lot of people didn’t like Reagan or Bush the Elder, but they had enough respect for them to be somewhat sad when they died. It’s closer to when Nixon died, except there were some good things to say about him. Will anything good be said about OJ when he dies? The media will make their tributes, but since they’ll be awfully short on footage of celeb friends eulogizing him and the general public in mourning for him\*, they’ll have to talk about something. So it’ll probably be his athletic feats; that’s safe territory. But you’re not going to see him canonized like Dimaggio and Ali were. \*(I still believe that the people cheering the verdict were cheering as much for Johnnie Cochran as they were for OJ.
