**ANY REACTIONS TO THE FOLLOWING NEWS STORY?** It’s unbelievably stupid, IMHO… Washington Post Staff Writer Friday, September 14, 2001; Page C03 "Television evangelists Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson, two of the most prominent voices of the religious right, said liberal civil liberties groups, feminists, homosexuals and abortion rights supporters bear partial responsibility for Tuesday’s terrorist attacks because their actions have turned God’s anger against America. “God continues to lift the curtain and allow the enemies of America to give us probably what we deserve,” said Falwell, appearing yesterday on the Christian Broadcasting Network’s “700 Club,” hosted by Robertson. “Jerry, that’s my feeling,” Robertson responded. “I think we’ve just seen the antechamber to terror. We haven’t even begun to see what they can do to the major population.” ---

I whole-heartedly agree, those people are some of the stupidest I’ve ever heard. His words make people think that they are justified in killing in the name of God. The single worst part of religion is the idea that you will be saved/redeemed if you act on behalf of what you “think” God wants. ---

If those quotes are truly accurate, I’d copy/paste that into the “dumbest thing you’ve ever heard someone say” thread. Those two morons must be so pleased that their agenda is finally being served. ---

Wow, you mean it took two whole days for the loonies to get on TV and start spewing? It’s a sad irony that the same events that draw most of us together are used by these cynical opportunists to try and pull us apart. I cheerfully invite them to seek holy martyrdom in Afghanistan. ---

I saw this in the Post this morning, in IMO, it is disgusting. The idea of blaming feminists, civil liberties supporters, and homosexuals for the deaths of thousands of people is horrific. I agree…SHUT UP, JERRY FALWELL!!! ---
