Two points: 1. It is likely that the Democrats see a tactical advantage in keeping election feelings riled up, to keep the Party Faithful primed for future political and election battles. (I have not seen much Republican gloating, other than in direct response to Democrat complaining). 2. Had Gore prevailed in his post-election challenges, I think the Republicans would have harped about it even more. ---
