Sibling Marriage

This were true if the incest ban in all those jurisdictions had purely genetic reasons. I don’t think, however, that this is why legislation outlaws incest. At lest for German law (which bans sibling marriage, but allows first cousin marriage without any restrictions), it is widely agreed that the incest ban is there to protect family bonds, not the gene pool. German law has a “registered partnership” between two persons of the same sex, very much like marriage, but siblings can not form such a partnership.

Muffin is a lawyer in Ontario. Why shouldn’t he know the law?

Actually, when the Civil Pact was debatted in France, the issue of brother/sisters entering in such an agreement was discussed. Not with the case of potential gay incestuous people in mind, but rathet to grant similar rights to, for instance, ordinary retired single siblings living together for convenience, to avoid loneliness, etc…

Eventually, siblings were excluded. Probably because it would have resulted in some cases in giving an official stamp to an actual incestuous relationship. I would add that this union isn’t limited to gay people. People of different sex can and do enter it.
It’s sort of a “marriage lite”.

Multiple underage camels sharing your gender!!!

I’d walk a mile for a camel…

All this time I thought that was about selling cigarettes. :smack:

Midnight at the oasis, take your camel to bed…

Hey, woah. Wait a minute, pal. We have to draw the line somewhere.
