In birth order: One sister, died when I was 4 One brother, still alive and annoying me =) Myself assorted miscarried and stillborn siblings, I do not have an exact number but probably 3 or 4 from what it sounds like. I know that my mom had reproductive issues that elad to being put on the early form of the pill after I popped out. Since I have PCOS and endometriosis, probably something similar. ---

I was adopted as a very young child, and raised as an only child. Met my birth mother and half siblings when I was about 20. Became rather close, so while I didn’t grow up with any siblings, most of them grew up with me. (When we met: 15 yr old bro, 13 yr old sis, 8 yr old bro, 6 yr old sis.) ETA: I didn’t vote, simply because “Four and zero” didn’t fit neatly anywhere. ---

I’m the firstborn of 5 - four girls and a boy. One sister is about 15 months younger, my brother came 15 months after her, next sister is 7 years younger than I, and youngest sister is 11 years younger than I. Our births spanned 1954 - 1965 and my mother was a SAHM, which was pretty typical of those years. My husband is the eldest of 3 sons. ---

OP here. Thanks for the heavy voting and all the replies! - I really missed the mark for large families! I never realized so many people (over 20% of you) came from such large families. Maybe it was my neighborhood growing up, but four kids was about the biggest family I knew. (Small town in Illinois) - I am most surprised by the huge number of “one boy and one girl” families. I guess that stereotype of mom, dad, brother and sis is not such a wild stereotypical family concept after all! Again, never met many families like that growing up.
