I’m so sorry.
So sorry for your loss Tubadiva. It sounds like it was very peaceful. Mandy had her people around her, right to the end, and as we say on another board I belong to, This it Be Very Right.
Aw shit. That’s tough. Try to hang in there.
So sorry to hear that, Tuba.
i’m sorry tubadiva.
Thank you so much, all of you. I appreciate this so much.
slightly askew, how is Soda doing? Better, I hope.
Soda is doing pretty well given the circumstances. We are still giving him the fluids twice a day and he’s starting to put up a fight. He’s eating, drinking, using the litter box, playing, and close to being his old self. If you didn’t know he was sick, you wouldn’t realized how bad of shape he was in. We go back to the vet tomorrow. I’ll keep you posted.
Update: We went to the vet yesterday and Soda is doing remarkably well. His blood work all came back within the normal ranges for BUN and creatinine, etc. They are still a little high, but within the normal ranges. Soda even put on a half-pound since we were there three weeks ago! Since he was fighting us giving him the fluids and he’s doing so well, the vet said we can stop with the fluids and just keep him on his special food and the Epakitin powder (which helps slow kidney disease). The vet said to monitor him and if we notice anything, like him not wanting to eat or drinking a lot of water, to bring him in. Otherwise, we can wait until May when we go in for his annual check-up and shots.
We’re pretty excited. We were so upset in December when we thought we were going to have to say goodbye to the little fuzzer.
Thanks so much for all the support. I really do appreciate it.
Scritches all around!!!
That’s awesome, I didnt’ see this thread the first time 'round, but I’m so glad to hear he’s diong well!
<<kitties>>
Seriously. We recently had to give our cats the same antibiotic (our newbie brought giardia in from the shelter).
I cannot for the life of me figure out why a medicine for cats would be cherry flavored. The de-wormer was worse though - it was basically liquid chalk. I don’t know what flavor it was, but they hated it more than the antibiotic.
I just saw this thread. TubaDiva, I’m so sorry. I do love the phrase ''whim of iron" – it perfectly describes a Siamese’s whims. Such a pretty girl. I’ll pet my Sapphire for her.
And yay for Soda, slightly askew!
