Sick cat - help sought

Back from the vet who said she was pretty sure it was cat treats. Come to find out, my cat has been hopping the fence to visit our new neighbor (of one week). I ask him about it and he thought he was doing our kitten a favor buy giving him milk and cat treats.

So hopefully problem solved.

Oh, good. I am glad you found out the source.

Cats can be sneaky opportunistic manipulative little gits like that. Come over acting like they’re starved and mistreated when they’re perfectly well fed by their loving owners. (I assume any cat that trusts humans enough to approach a stranger is pretty well treated at home.)

On a similar note:

I have two cats, brother and sister, 13½ years old. I live in the woods; they do everything outdoors but are usually inside at night. They are not fat and are generally quite healthy and eat critters they catch, and have full access to a hopper filled with dried catfood.

But the female has been vomiting regularly for 6-8 years now. I asked the vet some years ago and she said “Well, some cats are just like that.” I figured they would try to sell me some high-priced “cure” but they didn’t.

So 3-4 years ago I asked a different vet; she said, without hesitation, “She has a food allergy.” She recommended feeding them “Science Diet” food for sensitive stomachs. So I’ve been doing that and she seemed to improve quite a bit.

But lately she’s been vomiting again, although not as bad as in the beginning. My next step is to worm them and see what happens.

I never let my cats out. I figure they would head to Washington DC and take over the country. They have had a puke or 2, it seemed like hairball problems. They absolutely will not eat the hairball prevention food. I quit giving them commercial cat treats. I make cooked liver treats for them. It has helped. I saw my male cat eating a morsel of dog food a few days ago and he hacked it right up. So besides being evil overlords they also have sensitive tummys, poor babies!

Wait, do they have orange combovers?

Probably be an improvement!
