# sick kids and soda pop

not that i’m complaining, or that i mind the extra work, but why am i saving all the tabs from the top of a can of pop? does it really help kids with cancer? how?

How about giving gingerale to sick kids? Is there a reason to use that soda in particular?

Generally, ginger is supposed to help nausea. Also, when you are nauseated and throwing up it is hard to get enough liquids and calories. Gingerale is that magical combination of anti-nausea, liquid, and high-calorie. Cola also combats nausea (you can buy straight up cola syrup in a lot of pharmacies for this purpose).

Recently I had a rather… vigorous reaction to some muscle relaxants. I ate nothing but flat, caffeine-free Pepsi and bananas for 2 days.
