No doubt the more clever ones amongst you would know instantly whyfore. Now what the blazes was I going to say when I managed to connect to this forum just now? Oh yes - I remember. Yes, an apology is due. I was harsh in my first post. I am not a Christian-hater. I think that on the whole Christianity has been a force for good in this evil world. But you Christians right now(2004)are very, very poor indeed at pointing out evil in this world. how many of you drive great big motor cars? These horrible things kill (I understand) something like one hundered precious Amercans a day on average. Counless millions of other creatures… Oh goodness, this is not at all what I was going to rant about. My tiny mind got diverted from the thought! Too late. The perils of imperfect technology shouts out 'do not go back and check, do not press ‘back’. Sorry for being a backward being at this internet lark! I shall now press the button ‘submit reply’, and see what happens… ---

Wow, that last post (2 posts agon on preview) by **WoodCM** is a lot like reading Nabokov, or maybe The Wasteland by T.S. Eliot. You know, it’s funny; I am an atheist who thinks that religion on the whole has very, very few redeeming qualities where it’s positive, and is very dangerous where it’s negative. But to tell all believers of religion to go to another forum is just stupid. The debate over religion is vastly interesting, and very often points are brought up that I never thought about on both sides of the equation. This educates me, and it educates the people involved. If you’re so enlightened that you know everything there is to know about _both_ sides of the argument, then I think you could be so enlightened as to let us kids just play and work out our differences. Odds are, though, the one word you should drop from your vocabulary for a while is the word ‘enlightened’, especially in reference to yourself. ---
