The British Ford series used to be jokingly called Angle, Defect, Tonsil, Zither and Kodak (circa 1960). (Anglia, Prefect, Consul, Zephyr, Zodiac.) ---

VW camper van: Westfalia. Instantly named “Westfailure”. Maybe that bit of “didn’t think this through, did you?” presaged their “Clean Diesel” blunder. I’m lazy, but I suspect a quick check of Detroit model names from 1956-1962 would bring forth some classics. I remember the Olds “Rocket 88”. Everyone wannted to cash in on the Space Race. ---
