Yes, I’m bored. And no…don’t say “Clean your room” or “do your homework.” I am not MOTIVATED yet. I can do nothing more than lie around- or post to the board. So first, you have to motivate me. 🙂 Give me something to do. Whether its run onto the rooftop naked, or steal oreos and throw them at people’s cars, or…something a bit more accessible. Or just help me get a thread that doesn’t die after four posts. That would actually make me feel a little better. (My threads are ever so weak, hint, hint…) i’ll be waiting… ---

The only fire in my belly right now is indigestion from the last batch of chili I made. _sigh_ _burp_ I have been in a deep funk for a couple of weeks now. Not really a depression, just a funk. Most of it comes from exhaustion from fighting off terror at the concept of long-term unemployment. The rest is a feeling of being cut off from friends (nobody’s been available lately) and not having a good woman to make me not mind the absent friends. ---

Rip up a couple of pieces of paper really small, one inch squares or so. Write on each one: “Help! I’m being held hostage by my evil step-mother!” [hijack] My step-brother did this when he was ten years old. Dad found the papers. Chris got in big shit. [byejack] Catch a cricket. Make it little gloves and a hat. Teach it to chirp in rhythm to Bach’s Tocatta and Fugue. Stuff marshmallows up your nose. The big, coloured ones. Draw on your legs with a ball-point pen. Fill in the designs with smelly markers (the GOOD smelly ones). Use the markers to paint your face so you look like Christina Aguilera in “Lady Marmalade”. Take pictures. Post them on the internet. Put the URL in your sig line. Shove chocolate-chip cookie dough into the spaces between your toes. Try to eat it. Bite your toenails while you are contorted. Try to get the marshmallows out of your nose. Learn to speak Urdu. If you already speak Urdu, learn to speak the language of the Golden Lion Tamarinds. Navel gaze. Nuke an orange in the microwave. Wear goggles while doing this. Use nail polish to fill holes in your walls from old picture-hanging nails. Slut red nail polish is my favourite for this job. Or, you could always just read a book. The cloud is over all of North America? Good; I thought it was just central Illinois. If you lived in Springfield, Illlinois, you could go to Washington Park and check out the International Carillon Festival. I hear it’s quite a trip, if you’re into that. The Thomas Rees Memorial Carillon is one of the largest of its kind in the country. When I was a kid, our class took a field trip there. The Bell Master (?) showed us the keyboard and some of the inner workings of the carillon. He also showed us a lot of the individual bells. He took us all out to the biggest bell, a G-Flat that weighs some 15,000 pounds, and told us to stand really still. He said he was going to go to the keyboard and _lightly_ tap it. So he did, and the vibrations shook my whole body :eek:. For an 8-year-old, that’s unbelievably cool! He then came out and told us that if he were to strike the bell as hard as he could, it would probably shatter our eardrums with us standing that close to it :eek:. * * * I’m sorry if I didn’t motivate you, but I hope my touching little story at least made you smile. 😛 ---

My plans for the day include rolling up the sidewalk, nailing the door shut, not answering the phone, playing computer games, painting miniatures, doing odd things with my guitar tunings, finishing a book, and posting random babblings on the SDMB. Sometimes, you gotta retreat and regroup. ---

Hey, Zoggie, here’s an idea. Start up a “Who likes the Gilmore Girls” thread. You could call it something clever like the _Stars Hollow Town Hall Meeting is Cancelled Due to Excessive Attendance_, but a lot shorter. I have to admit, I’m getting to really like Michel, starting with his bout of ennui. I’m glad Rachel is out of the picture, though. Just relax into the funk, and the funk will pass.
