I was going to post about this yesterday but I really didn’t know where to start. My boyfriend Jeremy gave me a ring Sunday night. He said he just wanted me to know how much he loved me before I went to visit my parents for Christmas. 🙂 After thinking about it all day yesterday, last night I gave him a set of keys to my place. I’m at work, but he’s at home as I write this, probably all cute and cozy in bed. It’s a really big deal for me to give someone the keys. Later on, he’ll be seeing me off at the bus station. And, just as **Exgineer** foretold in the [toothbrush](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=151017) thread, we’ll be clearing a dresser drawer for him when I get back. 😛 I’m not in the habit of wearing rings, but I’m getting used to it quite fast. 🙂 We’ll try and tie the wedding in with Doperéal II. 😉 ---

That is quite wonderful 🙂 You’ll get used to wearing it but will still be aware of its presence. You’ll pick up a cup and it will clink against the surface, and you’ll smile knowing someone thinks you’re that marvellous. You’ll be soaping your face and, feeling the scratch of the metal on your cheek, know that you’re loved. You’ll begin to twiddle it in times of boredom then become aware of it and its meaning, looking down on it and grinning sappily. People will comment on it and you’ll try not to swoon too much, but will fail horrendously (and this will be adorable). You’ll carry it and with it his thoughts and his regard with you everywhere you go. If he’s ever apart from you, you’ll rub your thumb over it, thinking of him, so very glad to know he’s in the world with you. Congrats! Now, is this where we huddle in a corner over Bride magazine and discuss floral arrangements?
