On the one hand, i’m optimistic enough that you can (eventually) gather enough non-bigoted straight people to support your quest for social justice.
On the other, you’re exactly right—if the straight majority continues to decide that they want to deny you the institution of marriage, then the current situation could go on for a very long time. The tyranny of the majority can be a rather persistent thing, unfortunately.

It’s also the sort of thing that usually comes from people who already have all the rights and privileges that they want. It’s easy to tell someone else that they need to be patient when you’re not the person being deprived of something.

What I hate more is in that event when someone says something to the extent of: ‘See, and this is why you don’t get it. You need to be nicer in how you ask for it.’
