# Signature Line

My signature line doesn’t show. Do I have something turned off that I need on? Oh geez, after 6 months I just found it down there!

Are you remembering to check the “show signature” box? You have to do this every time you want to use it. The reason “show” isn’t the default is given in the second part of this quote from the ATMB thread [FAQ - guidelines for posting at the SDMB](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?postid=3407287#post3407287):

If you’re not seeing anybody’s sig, you probably have “Show Signatures” turned off. Click on the “User CP” button on the top of any SDMB page. Then click on “Edit Options”. On that page, under “Thread View Options”, you will see “Show user’s signatures in their posts?” Make sure you have yes selected.
