[Maher canceled, Kimmel lands slot at ABC](http://www.cnn.com/2002/SHOWBIZ/TV/05/14/television.kimmel/index.html) Jimmy Kimmel has to be one of the least talented, least charismatic TV personalities ever. He makes Ted McGinley seem a master thespian and the cast of Friends seem like Nobel prize winners. I’m considering starting a non-profit organization dedicated to saving the electrons forced, surely against their will, to carry any sort of Kimmel programming. ---

I wonder what Kimmel’s show will be. It won’t be PI, that’s for sure. Hopefully one of the channels that isn’t totally wussified will pick up PI. Maher sucks doing standup, IMO, but he did a great job with PI. Maybe Comedy Central will pick it back up. Then I’ll have to petition for Comedy Central… shit cable here doesn’t have it. I have some loose change if you get the non-profit going. ---

Somebody has to speak for the unwashed masses … I find Jimmy Kimmel to be funny as hell. He has great timing, a laconic delivery, a skill for smart-assedness, and a talent for being edgily offensive without pushing it over the edge. I find Bill Maher to be a fucking snob – even though I agree with virtually everything he’s ever said. _PI_ was pretty good, but I got sick of his schtick. Most of the time he’d throw out a topic, and then wait for a straight line. And more times than not the show would just devolve into a screaming match. It’s time is over. I’m not a raving fan of _The Man Show_ either, but I’ll bet Kimmel will present something at least entertaining in that slot, on that network. ---

I don’t really care too much about PI - I only saw it a few times. Thought it was alright, but nothing to miss sleep over, and if I was going to stay up to watch TV, it wouldn’t be for PI. I was first introduced to Kimmel on “Win Ben Stein’s Money”. I’m a fan on Ben so I endured Kimmel. Then I start seeing him on Fox Sports. He made Terry Bradshaw look like a PhD. When ‘forced’ to watch (or at least endure the background noise of) “The Man Show”, I was entirely turned off. Lowbrow humor done well, I enjoy (I was and still am a huge fan of “Married With Children”); lowbrow humor simply for the sake of lowbrow humor isn’t funny, IMNSHO. I chose the Pit because I wanted people to swear and hurl epiteths either at me or preferably at Kimmel. I choose to curse on only rare occassion, so I didn’t use any in the OP. ---
